His Other Eye Shoots Out Cookies!
I saw this photo on Dlisted.com and had to comment on it. How is this guy shooting milk out of his eyelid?
There is a small drainage duct, or punctum, in the inner aspect of each upper and lower eyelid which drains tears out of the eye and through the nose. This is one reason why your nose runs when you cry. Although this duct mainly runs in one direction, I suppose it is possible for a dumb fool to stick milk up his nose, plug his nostrils, close off his palate and push the milk back through his punctum and out his eye...giving him his two seconds of fame on blogs like this one.
What a hideous sight.

I saw a guy do this on Letterman's "Stupid Human Tricks" years ago. He won.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine with a Master's in Inorganic Chemistry makes a living demonstrating "Grossology" to schoolkids. His big showpiece is Brain Floss, where he snorts up a strand of spaghetti and the other end comes out his mouth and he saws it back and forth...his mother must be SO proud!
My husband's former coworker had blood squirting out of his tear ducts! It was sudden and out of the blue, and it happened a few more times too. He went to the dr for it, but my husband heard that they were baffled, and referred him. He ended up quitting that job since it was a food factory, and he didn't want to risk blood squirting into thousands of pounds of meat, so my husband never heard what the diagnosis turned out to be.
ReplyDeletethe punctum is not a drainage duct. it is just the opening. the duct is the cannaliculus, tear sac and the nasolacrimal duct.
ReplyDeleteAnon 4:29. I do believe your husband's former co-worker became the villain in CASINO ROYALE.
ReplyDeleteSometimes during a really bad cold or allergy attack I will blow my nose and the tear duct in my right eye will blow bubbles due to the pressure.
Can't imagine what it would be like to do that with lemon juice!
