Sophia Loren Denies Plastic Surgery - Huh?

Sophia Loren has recently gone on record denying having plastic surgery. According to ivillage.com:

The actress, who became an international sensation in the '60s, has told PEOPLE magazine that her looks are 100% natural. "I don't believe in having work done, because then everybody looks the same," she says.

Huh? While I don't think she's had a lot of work done, to me she looks like she's had a facelift. Here are some signs:
1. There is a sweep to her jawline which is consistent with the sweep of a facelift.
2. Her jawline is unnaturally sharp and tight for a 75 year old woman.
3. Some photos of the undersurface of her neck show unevenness and dimpling similar to that seen with a facelift.

My feeling is, if you're not going to come clean and admit you've had work done, then that's your business. However, don't come out saying you haven't had work done when you have, since that's just being disingenuous. Just my humble opinion!

I like Jane Seymour. She's been very up front and nonapologetic about what she's had done. Plus, I like her in the cult classic Somewhere in Time.

I have to say those platysmaplasties are amazing. She would probably look her age if she hadn't had one.

What a liar! She looks great because she has natural beauty and a good plastic surgeon. She has obviously had a facelift, and I would be shocked if she has not tried Botox, Juvederm, etc.

I saw another photo from the same event, she's brushing her hair back with her hand and you can see that she's totally missing her "sideburns". I saw other similar photos, and it appears she's been missing them for a while, but she had them when she was younger. Isn't that one of the telltale signs? (Did I learn that here on this site? I think I did!)

Is there any way to preserve the sideburns?

  4. Michael C. Pickart, M.D. F.A.C.S., I love you, letters and all. Very few prominent surgeons speak with candor about celebrities. It's women like Loren who make the rest of us feel as if there's something wrong with us. From her voluminous wig to her unnaturally tight neck, Loren is a product of great beauty and excellent plastic surgery. Let's not forget her genes. Her mother was exquisite, like Greta Garbo.

One thing that would improve her looks and make her look younger would be to fix her eyebrows. I see this on a lot of older women. Is it inevitable that you lose eyebrows as you age? Would Rogaine help?

    Dr. Youn,
Is the 'sweep' avoidable in the most modern facelift technique?

Regarding the eyebrow loss, I think the answer is usually "yes". I'm wondering if Latisse would be more helpful than Rogaine.

I wish Loren wouldn't extend her drawn eyebrows out as far as she has, and as low either. It's a very old fashioned shape, she should try a gullwing shape.
