Mickey Rourke Admits to Plastic Surgery by Hack Surgeon

According to Monsters and Critics, Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke has admitted to having plastic surgery by a hack plastic surgeon. He reportedly stated,

"Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together... I had my nose broken twice. I had five operations on my nose and one on a smashed cheekbone... I had to have cartilage taken from my ear to rebuild my nose and a couple of operations to scrape out the cartilage because the scar tissue wasn't healing properly. That was one of the most painful operations, but the worst was hemorrhoids."

It's funny that he admits to having hemorrhoids but doesn't admit having a facelift, which he appears to have had. For my opinions on his previous surgery, click here.

I hope he wins the Oscar tonight. I saw his performance in The Wrestler and think it's amazing. He really deserves it. I'd much rather see him win it instead of that smug Sean Penn.

Yes, it seems Mickey really wants to be this tough 'n' ruff manly-man character, so he will even admit to having hemorrhoids (because men get hemorrhoids, don't they?) before he admits to facelift, botox and other plastic surgery that has left him looking like a burn victim. Good luck Sean Penn, I hope you do well. It's rare to see Hollywood stars like Sean Penn, Clooney, de Niro and the like, who can actually use their own brains, unlike Mickey Rourke who can't seem to pull his head out of his butt to save his life.

Rourke is great; I also hope that he wins the Oscar. I don't find Sean Penn smug but rather misanthropic and brilliantly gifted.

As far as Rourke admitting to a facelift, I guess it's not the most macho image to convey. Repairing fight damage is very masculine but somehow a facelift seems like pure vanity.

Whatever the story, he's a courageous and gifted survivor and I wish him the best of everything.

Mickey's face has been looking a little better lately. Perhaps I am getting used to looking at it. I was not thrilled that Sean Penn won the award last night.

QFT. Too bad the Academy didn't agree.
