Dr. Youn on Ashlee Simpson in In Touch Weekly

Has Ashlee Simpson had more plastic surgery? The latest issue of In Touch Weekly focuses on this, and presents some of my comments on her possible latest work. We all know she had a rhinoplasty, which is confirmed by her surgeon, Dr. Raj Kanodia. He, like me, is an alumnus of the Dr. 90210 TV show. For the record, there is a distinct possibility she has had a chin reduction procedure (called a genioplasty) and an endoscopic browlift.
A genioplasty is a fairly invasive, painful surgery which I do not perform regularly. It basically entails breaking the chin and setting the bone back to make it look smaller.
An endoscopic browlift is a procedure I perform quite often. It is a minimally invasive surgery in which the surgeon makes small incisions in the scalp and uses fiberoptic cameras to release the forehead and pull it upward. It is contrasted with the sometimes ghastly old-fashioned forehead lift, where an incision is made across the scalp, from ear to ear. It can be very visible in some people, especially if they go bald.

But this woman is like what... 21?? It is ridiculous that an already beautiful person would think they require a brow lift at such a young age?!

I am not totally against plastic surgery but a brow lift at such a young age? Tell me you ask these people to seek a therapist first to ensure they don't have Body Dysmorphic Disorder. Because I have affeling by the time Ashlee is 30 she will look like Jocelyn Wildenstein.

I have never performed a browlift on someone so young. I use it as an anti-aging surgery, with the average age of about 45-50.

She looks like a completely different person. I think it's a bit freaky when plastic surgery has that effect.

It was probably necessary to do the chin reduction when they performed the rhinoplasty because it would have been noticeably large with the new smaller nose.

I'm confused about the browlift part. If the forehead is not wrinkly, what is the advantage of getting a browlift? Was it to make her eyebrows more arched?
I think the rhino & genioplasty turned out as well as could be hoped-- she went from unconventional beauty to run-of-the-mill beauty, and I can see why she might prefer that.

Athough a browlift can help with forehead wrinkles, it is mainly used to lift the eyebrows when they are droopy. Botox is really the best treatment for forehead wrinkles.

Hi there. You mentioned that Ashley might've had genioplasty. I've been researching the procedure (since I'm interested in getting it done), and I was under the impression that "genioplasty" is chin augmentation...while "mentoplasty" is a reduction.

Am I wrong?
