Who Is the World's Most Beautiful Woman?

A poll by Colin Stewart's OC Register blog finds that 55% of his readers believe Angelina Jolie is the world's most beautiful woman. Readers voted Ava Gardner second, Halle Berry third, and Jennifer Connelly fourth. Click here to vote for your favorite.

Whom would I vote for? Second to my wife, I would have to pick Audrey Hepburn, although she doesn't make his list at all. At least Renee Zellweger only got 2% of the vote. She is a fantastic actress, but to me she always looks like she's sucking on a lemon.

Thanks for reading.

Perfect description of Zellweger but she does have spectacular legs.

Before her strange metamorphosis, I thought that Lara Flynn Boyle was breathtakingly gorgeous. Also Courteney Cox. I guess I have a fondness for anorectic brunettes.

Angelina Jolie is fascinating but I find that her thin bony arms and legs are a turn off.

So, as far as the list goes, a big yes for Ava Gardner

Your wife is a lucky woman! =) And OMG you have a sense of humor, Zgirl does look like she's sucking on a lemon!

Great photo of Audrey. Never considered her beautiful before, wondered why the hype, but that's a great pic.

Myself, I'd have to pick Gene Tierney, the epitome of outstanding beauty. She's incomparable and the most beautiful woman I ever saw on TV! Only Jaclyn Smith's beauty compares in caliber IMHO.

(Did you see pix of Angelina with her real nose? Now that woman is an example of plastic surgery gone right!)

I have never seen a more apt description of Renee Zellweger.

I think that Angelina Jolie can be viewed as very 'attractive', but I just don't see 'beautiful' in her. She is very sultry, sexy and suitable for this era, but someone with her face 50 years ago probably would not have been considered attractive.

Beauty should be timeless; if I had to choose, Audrey Hepburn would probably be on that list somewhere too.

I agree about Ava Gardner (the Angie Jolie of her time) and Audrey Hepburn (quirky and unconventional beauty).

What about Elizabeth Taylor? Grace Kelly? Ingrid Bergman? THEY were great beauties.

Ava Gardner, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman.....Amen to that! I would also add Vivien Leigh, Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine (obviously good DNA there), Greta Garbo, and Carole Lombard (who was such a talented comedienne that people almost forget how stunning she was).

I find any "most .... in the world" (in the WORLD?!) lists simply a ridiculous waste of time. (Why not call them the most-whatever CELEBRITY?)

But I do find actual opinions, like these here, highly interesting.

So, out of sheer curiosity, what do the people reading this blog - and the blogmaster himself - opine on Marilyn Monroe and her (non)place on this list?
(I am not a fan or anything, just asking - considering that so many try to copy her style, or whatever you would call it.)

Jo, I think you would enjoy (or not ;) Marwick's book "Beauty in History".
Basically, he argues - rather convincingly, in my opinion - that there is NO "beauty" without sex appeal.
In other words, physical "beauty" (in humans) is, according to Marwick, a misnomer for the perception of "sex appeal".
And that people who were considered very beautiful, say, 800 years ago would still be considered beautiful today, or vice versa.

I don't agree with many of his views, but it is an interesting read.

Dr. Youn,
I think , Monica Bellucci is an attractive woman, but do you think she had a nose job?

I think Monica Bellucci, when she was younger is one of the most attractive looking women that I had seen .She has an attractive height and attractive face, but I think Elizabeth Taylor, at her best, probably has a more attractive face than Monica Bellucci ; when she was younger. I think the way Monica Bellucci looks now is attractive as Angelina Jolie, or maybe a little lower.

Thanks,
Soriya

wait what about Aishwarya Rai? And Bipasha Basu? they are too beautiful to not be included in this

Best way to tell a "beautiful woman" is how they age. Whilst this is an impossible task for hollyweird beauties, latest pictures of Audrey Hepburn shows an amazingly beautiful woman that has aged gracefully.hence making her the world's most beautiful woman.

I've always thought that if aliens abducted us (or something along those lines) and asked us for the most beautiful woman on earth, I'd send Polish model Anja Rubik.
And I think the most "pretty" woman is Lily Donaldson (she reminds me of an ostrich).

I agree with Renee and lemons.

I guess, when it comes to perfection (bone structure et al.., and maintenance included..!), my votes will go between Gene Tierney and Jaclyn Smith....These beauties comes closest to perfection...and world beauty experts can attest to that...Sadly to say, Gene Tierney has passed away and Jaclyn Smith is rarely seen lately on screen...and with the current beauties, I reckon Angelina Jolie is an excellent beauty...

My vote would go to Angelina Jolie :)

But NO "Most beautiful.." list could ever be complete without Aishwarya Rai. Man, her beauty is ethereal.. and natural.
