The Premiere Site For Celebrity Plastic Surgery By A Real Plastic Surgeon

I'm a Michigan-based Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who has been featured on Dr. 90210. The info here is my opinion alone and should not be taken as fact or as medical advice. I've not treated any of the celebrities presented here.

Ryan Seacrest

Seacrest...Rhinoplasty? It appears that Ryan Seacrest has enhanced his appearance with a nose job (rhinoplasty) to decrease the roundness of his nasal tip. He looks more refined and mature in the "after" photo. It is very surprising just how many stars have had rhinoplasty surgery. While some are obvious, there are many celebrities who appear to have had rhinoplasty surgery whom most people wouldn't suspect. Some people whom I believe have had their nose altered include Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, and Jennifer Aniston. For many, it has been an unfortunate prerequisite to stardom.

In my opinion, the nose should never be an attention-getting feature of the face. If the nose attracts attention, it is almost always in a negative fashion. Some examples of this include Ashlee Simpson, Jimmy Durante, and Pinnochio. The best-looking noses blend into the rest of the features of the face, and allow the other attractive features (usually the eyes, cheeks, or lips) to stand out. Hence, a good rhinoplasty de-emphasizes the nose, bringing out other more attractive facial features. This is most recently obvious with Ashlee Simpson or a "Thriller" Michael Jackson. So when this rule is applied to Ryan Seacrest, one can see that his alleged rhinoplasty was very successful. His nose no longer attracts attention.

Hm. Yep, that looks like a good job.

I've got a good male friend who is frequently described as "so good-looking, but he's got this nose"...which seems to me to be exactly what rhinoplasty is for, for people who aren't comfortable with the nose being the focal point of the face. I do like individuality in looks, but it all depends on the individual :-)

That's big of you to provide a reference to Perez Hilton's website. You can be sure that he will not do the same if he ever takes an image or info from your site. :)

Don't you find that his nose is asymmetrical though? I find his face looks extremely asymmetrical when you see a head on photo.

What do you think the etiology of his slanted nose could be? Trauma? Mismanagement of a TM problem that caused craniofacial asymmetry? (You can definitely see he's had his teeth done...and the occlusal plane is perfectly straight across which highlights the asymmetry of his nose.)

I'd be interested in hearing your opinion!

I think that Ryan also had his upper eyelids done, too. They used to be heavier.

Either way he looks good. Nice example of "not too much."
